CONECTE Project is an EU funded project under ERASMUS program /the Capacity-Building projects in the field of Higher Education that aims at modernizing the higher education in Lebanon and strengthening entrepreneurship, university-enterprise cooperation, employability and E-learning. Coordinated by the Faculty of Economics in USJ in partnership with the Faculty of educational sciences, the CONECTE project consortium includes 6 Lebanese partners: CNAM-Lebanon, the Islamic University of Lebanon, Jinan University, the Basil Fuleihan Institute of Finance, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon and the General Directorate of Higher Education, as well as 3 European partners: the CNAM (France), the University of Mons (Belgium) and the Institute for Advanced Studies (Austria ) and an international partner: the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
The activities are grouped into five phases: knowing, identifying, training, evaluating, networking. In the first phase, the creation of a Labor Market Observatory in Lebanon is planned.
To meet the “training” objective, the project must create a virtual learning environment, in particular through the creation of a recording studio within the four partner universities of the project. In this phase, the UNTE will play a key role by giving its expertise in the field.
The "assessment" component provides for the opening of companies to students and the strengthening of what is called assessment in the work situation, to move towards work-study training, by combining the training institution and the world of the company.
The last objective, networking, plans to bring together economic, academic and public players.
