1. Creating educational/instructional videos content
The UNTE has extensive experience and skills to produce educational videos and IT development encompassing cloud virtualization and infrastructure support, system administration and monitoring and software testing. The unit is available to help institutions in producing tutorials for educators, students and members of the community. The integration of multiple media elements (audio, video, graphics, text, animation, music and many other techniques) into theoretical or practical knowledge increases students’ engagement.
2. Editing online courses
The UNTE has always provided support to teachers at Saint Joseph University of Beirut in setting up online courses and this support has been reinforced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Moodle.USJ is the official digital learning environment of USJ. The UNTE assists USJ teachers to create and deliver their courses on Moodle.USJ.
- Upload digital resources
- Synchronous or asynchronous communication activities (Chat, forums, surveys)
- Collaborative documentary activities (Glossaries, wikis)
- Online assessments and self-assessment (Quizzes, lessons)
3. Designing and implementing training systems
The UNTE accompanies educators to bring novelties or transformations within their teachings or discover new teaching methods and tools. It is in this sense that the UNTE offers a training package to educators to support them in their pedagogical journey, in the uses of digital technology and to promote the success of their students. Depending on the targeted training, the UNTE team performs different tasks, from designing the tools according to the presented needs, supporting face-to-face and remote interactions to administering the technological environment.
- Sets up training courses
- Designs, organizes, communicates and carries out training offers
- Oversees the learning processes of trainees
4. Digitization of educational resources
Today's teachers produce many digital teaching resources: digital images, diagrams, animations, quizzes, video montages, audio media and PowerPoint. The UNTE helps you choose the right tool and can also fully realize projects for teachers and institutions. These resources can then be integrated into Moodle, a website or a blog and shared online with students, colleagues and possibly internet users around the world.
These resources can also be the result of collaborative work between teachers, around a theme, an educational project or an update of the syllabi.
5. Setting up surveys
UNTE offers various tools for the creation and implementation of polls, surveys and other online assessments. It is possible to use these tools with closed or open-ended questions and generate very detailed reports of user responses.
The UNTE configures your polls, surveys and evaluations on the available tools and ensures dissemination, monitoring and reporting.
