The New Educational Technologies Unit (UNTE) participated in the international symposium on "Pedagogical Innovation and Technology-Enhanced Learning" (APITEL 2019) held on October 26 and 27, 2019 at the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
The intervention of Mrs. Wadad Wazen Gergy, Head of the UNTE, entitled "Sustaining innovation in educational technology: Case of Saint-Joseph University of Beirut" (Supporting innovation in educational technologies: case of Joseph University of Beirut) focused on the University's experience in digital education and actions taken by the institution to strengthen teachers’ commitment in digital technologies and serve the vision of USJ:
Excellence in Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century.
Mrs Wazen insisted, expressed in her presentation, on the importance of the institution’s support which makes it possible to guarantee the sustainability of techno-pedagogical innovations, despite the fact that investment in the digital field is sometimes based on personal initiative of teachers and their desire to change the way they teach for more effective student engagement.
