WRITING CALCULATED QUESTIONS

In Moodle.USJ’s, a teacher, within a course, could create two type of calculated questions, which are calculated multichoice question and calculated simple question.

The main purpose of the calculated question is to create multiple versions of a question with different numerical values. In below sections we refer to variables as wildcards.

  1. Calculated simple question: Consider the following example, a teacher wants to ask the following question: “What is the surface (in m2) of a rectangle with a base of x meters and a height of y meters? “
  2. As a result, every student will have the same question but with different variables (see images below)

Student A will have the following question

Student B will have the following question

You can check the following direct link, to see how to create this type of question.

  3. Calculated multi (unique) choice question: Consider the following example, a teacher wants to ask the following question “What is the area of a rectangle where L = x cm and H = y cm “
  4. As a result, every student will have the same question but with different variables and the answer will be calculated based on these variables (see images below)

Student A will have the following question

Student B will have the following question

You can check the following direct link, to see how to create this type of question.
