Created in March 2005 and attached to the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the New Educational Technologies Unit (UNTE) is the privileged place for experimentation, implementation and sharing of ICT practices and methods in Education. Since 2023, UNTE has been attached to the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs.
The UNTE works in favor of digital technology at the service of teaching-learning by offering the whole community support in the development of innovative projects and the pooling of practices, in order to accomplish its mission, vision and values.
UNTE is located on the 7th floor of the USJ Human Sciences Campus, Damascus Street in Beirut.
The UNTE
- Proposes to the Strategic Council of Educational Technology the University’s orientations of digital educational policy and accompanies the faculties in the execution of digital educational projects.
- Provides training for university professors-researchers in the pedagogical use of digital technology and leads workshops for the exchange of practices.
- Offers a range of techno-pedagogical advice to professors-researchers.
- Ensures the design and production of digital educational resources in the context of digital projects.
- Participates with the administration of the Information Technology Service (STI) in the implementation of technical environments and the educational applications necessary for training.
- Develops interactive applications, blogs, websites or virtual communities.
