The New Educational Technologies Unit is in charge of developing educational technology policy and establishing the vision for how technology can be used to transform teaching and learning at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ). The unit is responsible for designing, implementing and promoting E-Learning (distance education) strategies. The UNTE serves all USJ institutions, faculties and research centers, as well as USJ partner organizations (scientific agencies, associations, schools, scientific societies, etc.) and non-governmental organizations (public organizations, foundations, social enterprises, etc.).

Education in the global context has undergone profound transformation due to recent advancements of information and communication technologies (ICT), in addition to the large-scale use of constructivist teaching methods in ICT and distance education (e -Learning).

These services include advice, training and resources for using technology to create a more immersive teaching environment. It sets up training courses on the use of digital tools for distance and hybrid education, provides consultancy and technological pedagogical support, lays down digital educational projects, designs educational videos, edits online courses, designs and establishes a fully-fledged training system as well as oversee its operationalization and proper functioning. The unit also creates digital educational resources, produces and develops Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs), creates surveys and manages the digital platforms and tools.
