Biography: Helena Saade

Helena Saade serves as Projects Manager at the New Educational Technologies Unit of Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. She believes in technology’s potential to remove barriers to equity and provide meaningful experiences for all educators and learners. She assists the initiatives of the department in its vision and execution of priorities focused on enhancing teaching and learning through technologies.

Prior to that role, Helena was Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Education since 2013. Her duties included the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards, in addition to coordinating the execution of education programs and skills frameworks which led the faculty to achieve high evaluations in international accreditation. She has participated in a large number of educational projects (Connecte, UNESCO, and others).

Helena is a certified sworn translator. She holds an MA and a PhD in translation studies from USJ. As part of her thesis (Harmonization of Arabic terminology in higher education), she developed a bilingual educational terminology glossary to assist the USJ community to promote a common educational culture.
